Enough Essence in Varholm?

Hi all! I just started this game, last night, and I think I'm missing something in Varholm.

The only thing I can find to do is pick up the quest to bring 2997 Silver Essence to the mine, and kill stuff to farm the essence.

Thing is, I seem to have cleared the entire map, and I don't have enough essence. Can I reset the map? Are there respawns I need to wait for?

First of all, we would like to welcome you - so welcome!!

Yes, you are doing it in a right way. You can always reset the map. Every time that you entered in the map (e.g. be sure that, if you are playing in group, all people left the map too; if not, when the others players go there, map will not be reseted), map is reseted and there are not respawns, so you do not need to wait for anything!

Our Moon Events are currently being reworked. If you have any more doubts, you are welcome here and, of course, we would recommend you to read our official Wiki.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to just leave and come back, because i had to buy my way into the zone with Realm Fragments. And, it looks like I was right. I can't get back in to complete the quest without going back out and farming more fragments. Unless, there's something else I'm missing?

 

No... You always need fragments.

 

You should farm realm fragments ... then exchange them for entrance.
BTW if you don't have at least 200-300 realm fragments don't enter there because you will have to enter the event map once the event is running. Basically you will end up farming silver essences in vain.

 

Don't listen to him... If you play smart you don't need nearly that many... To finish event. To finish both sets probably will need several hundred.

Are you talking about the New New moon?
Because Gearic wants to know about Full Moon. Those sets are not granted and no one knows if you would need 300 or 3M frags to complete the sets

 

Full moon. They drop pretty commonly for me. I am missing the hard bow but it's just for achievement so I'm not gonna bother.

 

To be clear, I wasn't asking about any events, in particular. I was just following quest markers on my map, and I was asked to gather the essence. I just wanted to gather enough essence to turn in.

 

OK ... you were following the quest ... but note this: you don't just enter in Blackborg and Varmhol without reason. Those two maps have purpose. They are not like the other maps ... free to enter ... therefore when you enter there make a good use of your entrance.
I was about to suggest you to read the guide in the link above ... but knowing that Varmhol and Full Moon event will be changed just like the Blackborg and New Moon event ... I am out of ideas what can I suggest you

About that quest ... it is very rare when a player can finish it in a single run ... most of the times it needs two entrances (meaning another 10 realm fragments consumed to buy entrance).
When you finish this quest there is another one ... requires 1500 silver essences ... that quest can be finished in a single run.

Have in mind that those silver essences are useless anywhere outside the Full Moon event.

 

And then read the announcements on upcoming changes to the New Moon event and the feedback thread. That may help get a better feel for what is going on.

Most likely, the Full Moon Event will happen on the Test Server and the Wiki (awesome resource) will be updated with what to expect.

As a new player, personally I recommend avoiding the non-event maps for a month or more until it is all sorted out. Resources are more dear at lower levels than they are for higher level players. Let the high levels figure it out and share their experiences.
