Oh I understand it now. In this case, I don't think it is an overpowered item. I think others who have commented the same must have had the same misunderstanding as I did.

 

It is not OP, but it is PvP game changing. As already said, it will potentially let a DK enter into a skirmish with full rage and all skills cooled down which means a new method of fighting is emerging for 1H DKs.

Usually when there is a unique shield that has anything useful, it comes at the expense of all the other stats. This has a useful effect and has excellent block rate.

 

It is not a problem that the DKs are getting good item ... the problem is the other classes (especially rangers) are getting crap.

 

Well i just re thought about the mage item, it reduces meteor's cost by 50 also the first skill of meteor worth 2 points reduce the meteor cost by 50 ...by basic maths

100-50-50 =0!!

Don't thing the dk shield is usefull in most case except carrying flag when nobody is fighting you to hold rage.No dmg reduction,too weak a shield.

 

Well, then I misunderstood the DK shield too... oups.

Yeah, that is truly silly. They just had to add one option so as to have a weak prize (the Draken), when you're shooting for something else.

I'm always gonna bet on their not knowing what they're doing... because if they do so badly ON PURPOSE, then it's worse than I thought.

 

You don't need MC ... they want SWs to use this orb and Staff of Eternal Flame. That wand is reducing the meteor's cooldown by 25% with each fireball hit. So in the devs mind is using fireballs and meteors ... with this wand. Unfortunately the devs are so out of touch that didn't took into account that this wand is utter crap ... and this whole combination will not work neither in PVE nor in PVP.

 

True, but are you telling me that it wouldn't be funny as hell to watch three or four meteors drop in a row when used with MC? I'm just waiting for the YouTube video.

Just funny... but I think that most DKs in PvP would just be laughing because it tickles.

Fwiw, it was much easier to complete the warlord set on my SM than it was on my DK, despite my DK being better equipped. You can easily use turrets and your preferred essences to kill the demon mage, especially if you pull him halfway up on the stairs. It was also pretty easy to throw turrets and run on dragan hard. I would wait and see if they bring the event back...
