Congrats... how many pearls did it take you?

 

I was saving about 3500 pearls but ended up throwing away about 1k after I finished the challenge. But of course I also had a friend with me who had 9k pearls and he opened almost all the statues

 

@Darwarren i had big lags last few days and about those guys who died...well they are prem and they are using q6 m2 3rd kn (omg i hope that you understand this ) tactic so they can faster get out.

@_Baragain_ i had oround 2.7k pearls...now i have 960 every run other call statue and that is big pearl saver

 

That is what I call "completely wrong strategy".
Every player should take one tree a the time ... this way it is very fast and efficient since only one vial of blood is needed per run ... meaning you will have to kill the deers every fifth run.
When start running from the starting position (towards the trees) take the road ... it is clear with no monsters.
After killing the trees follow the road again to collect the drops.

 

Each run cost 150 peals you get 30 back. Everyone in my group used all damage gear food buffs and sacrificed armor for damage. We where able to kill a tree in 15 secounds with 5 20 with 4 and 30 with 3. The strongest was able to solo a tree in just under 1 min. That is the person the went north alone. We has 2x people with 2600 and 2800 pearls to start. rest had 2,000 pearls.

I was going to make a new post and do a mock up of the map but now I do not have to.

Here is the best way to do it. I did it with 1 blood per run kilt all 5 trees.

First if it is your firs time her obtain 1 blood before kicking the bucket. The one that is at the bottom of the skinny path is 5he closest one. Takes 2 people with premium maybe 2 to 10 mins to kill. Once cleared and kilt everyone runs there useing an hp pot or two.

Once you have obtained 1 blood we used red essance and kicked the bucket. We waited til the trees where close to the well all 5 people went the the one just below below the well the after death 1 person went to the one up north 4 people kilt the next closet jump a jump away. After dead 1 more joined the one at top 3 kilt the south one while the top one died the 2 run the the left most one and the other 3 joined.

Now if you want to farm 4 more bloods there will be no more poison. We obtained blood till we had plenty and switched to blue essence. Should take 2 bloods with blue essence. We got these drops. Tree 1 5x tree 2 10x tree 3 15x tree 4 25x tree 5 40x. Statues 46 is 15x and 20x.

You can do do the math of how many can you have and how many pearls are needed.

 

Agree but if you have 5 strong players... i am noobas other 3 players had to drag me and we have had use this strategy

 

3200 pearls used, 4200 available. My original estimate was 2800 pearls needed, but revised it to compensate for lousy drops and the learning curve, and Trakilaki's post. I opened a lot of statues.
I benefited from having excellent team-mates, especially Xtro and Redmaii. Groups of 2 or 3 seemed fastest. 4+ noobs are a disaster on time and essence. For the most part we avoided the mobs, unless we got trapped, or had to shoot our way through. Mob drops were sparse anyway.
At the end we had lots of Blood built up, so it was not efficient to use the statues. It was a lot faster to just get in, hug the trees, and get out. Then the fixed cost was only the 150 pearls entrance fee / run.

I did see trees walking backward the whole way. Hilarious.

I am not familiar with that code (Six Sigma ? ), but I like whatever works.

There are so many shortcuts, depending on the players involved. My OP team-mates waited until the monsters were close to the center, reducing the travel time, so they could save up Blood of the Forest for later.

 

The mini can be soloed by a high DPS 2H DK with blues and 3 bloods.

Bottom line up front for those of you who won't read my wall of text:
If you can, solo the mini event and don't summon the mini bosses (except one at the very end of your last run to complete the challenge without having to re-enter for 150 pearls). Doing it this way will cost you 2566 pearls which is the least that this can be done in unless you have a generous group who summon a lot for you.

Well, time to impart a little math to this conversation regarding solo vs group play and the value of statues. I hope it helps some of you out there.

This mini event is unique when compared to the last several. In the other ones, the amount of Cursed Candy you could get per run was variable. In this one, it is a constant.

Lets look first at the solo case:
From the trees, as long as you kill all 5, you will always get 95. Then from the statues, you will always get 35. This makes for a total of 130 for 212 pearls (150+46+46-30) if you count the 30 you get back from the pumpkin. Do a little math (130/212) and you find that you get a payout of 0.6132 candies per pearl spent. You could also do the math to find out how many runs it would take you to finish. 2000/130≈16 runs, but you don't need the statues from the last run, so you are looking at 16*212-(46*2)=3300 pearls exactly to finish solo... but wait, can the soloing antisocial hero do better? It turns out "Yes!"

The easiest way to notice this is to look at the candies/pearls ratio for both the statues and the trees. The trees drop 95/150=0.63333 candies per pearl and the statues drop 35/92=0.3804 candies per pearl. So, if you ignore the statues all together when soloing, counting the pumpkin, you are actually looking at 95/(150-30)=0.7917 which is better than even the average of doing all of them. Of course, it means more runs, but less pearls over all. How many you ask? Why don't we figure it out. 2000/95=21.05 runs. Instead of rounding this up, simply kill one statue on one run because the 0.05263 runs is only 5 cursed candies. At 150 a run and 30 back at the end of each run, and the one statue you'd need to summon, you'd only need 2566 pearls as opposed to 3300. That is a difference of 734 pearls!

So, it is decided... soloing this 4th mini event? Don't summon any statues except one!

But what about a group? Surely you start to gain an advantage if you are not summoning all of the statues yourself, but sharing the cost... right? (side note, if you are skipping the statues in a group, the math works out to be the same as the second example above for 2566 pearls for one person and 2520 for the other group members, number of people is irrelevant.)

Well, it would still be approximately 16 runs... that part of the math doesn't change, but the cost math does get a little more interesting.
Lets look at a group of 4 (the math is easier this way). In a group of 4, you personally are summoning one boss every other run. That means that in two runs you are spending 2*150+46-2*30=316 pearls for 260 candies. Do that math, and you get 0.8228 candies/pearl. spread this out over the 16 runs and you get about 2528. This is a only a tiny bit better than solo, but given that I could solo a lot faster than a group of 4, I'd judge my time saved as more valuable than 38 pearls.

Of course, while a group of 5 is unquestionable more pearl efficient than solo or a team of 4, the difficulty of getting a good 5 person group together for this and then the time difference that it takes.

The bottom line... Unless you can't do the 5 trees solo, don't do it in a team. Go solo and don't summon the statues.

EDIT:
Even if you can't do it solo, doing the 5 trees without the statues is still the easiest and cheapest way to do this, but probably a little slower.
