I just started the game and I don't understand EDIT is up!

All I see is a dark screen with a campfire and some guy near it, I don't see my character and there is no interaction that I can do! o_O

Some times you can lag out of the portal login server so best to retry the login.

Sounds like troubleshooting step #1... "Did you turn if off and back on?"

Welcome to the club! Please let me use your situation to expand the discussion, no offense intended.

    Murphy's Law may be relevant:
If anything can go wrong, it will.
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
Corollary: If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

From Wikipedia: Related terms such as PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard), ID-10T error (idiot error), and other similar phrases are also used as slang in technical circles with derogatory meaning. This usage implies a lack of computer savvy, asserting that problems arising when using a device are the fault of the user. Critics of the term argue that the problems are caused instead by a device that doesn't take into account human limitations and is thus designed in a way that induces errors. . . Experts in interaction design such as Alan Cooper[3] believe this concept puts blame in the wrong place, the user, instead of blaming the error-inducing design and its failure to take into account human limitations.

That brings us to the DSO development team.
I personally feel that the keyboard layout is far superior to most gaming models, particularly those that still use the ASWD and arrow keys.
There are a number of problems at higher levels. Faulty programming and faulty delivery issues are ongoing, as are intended programming with undesirable results. Some never get fixed, ever. Some take months, even years! That's amazing in the 21st Century. (There has got to be a better way.)
There is a lot of miscommunication due to language problems, even in descriptions and help sections. We make second efforts, and muddle through. Or just move on.
I hope things will not be left to themselves, and not go farther from bad to worse.

    Gee, that feels better. :)
    Have a great day! :):):)
