    Hello people,

I am new here, first time playing this game. Completed some of the first missions, level 3 currently. Basically, I need suggestions and into what and how to do around.

Apart that, have couple questions about the skills. Please, see image below:
My left click attack says that it generates 7 rage points, and costs 1 essence.
    3 questions here:
    • 7 rage is generated on every attack?
    • What is essence? How do I get it, so I can spend it on skills?
    • I have notices I loose rage every second. (?) Why is that?
My class is Dragonknight, so I need almost all the advices you can give me :) What skills should I use? What skills are preferred to be on mouse clicks? How do you like playing? :)

Thank you for anyone that will share advices.

PS. I have been looking around for more up to date tutorials, but it seems I was not able to find any. :( If I have missed something, please bare with me and share the link :)

    Regards,
    XxDevyxX

DKs have skills that build rage and skills that use rage. Basically, basic attacks like rage attack build rage and as you advance you will obtain extra skills that can use the built up rage for more damaging attacks.

Unused rage will slowly drop back to 0.

Essence is an attack bonus modifier consumable that can buff your attack. How much you use with each attack is the essence cost. You don't need to use essence in order to use your skills.

    Hello @XxDevyxX,

Welcome to the forums. You can use the DSO Guide on the forums as a source of some basic information.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,

Thank you both for the replies :) I will go straight on the link you provided me to look more into details.

Please keep the thread open in case I have more questions. :)

So, this essence is like a potion? Something that can be bought so I do more damage?

    Basically...
There are three basic kinds of essence.

The flat rate essence, better known as green essence, come in different strengths and they add a flat amount of damage to your character's stats. They are also level restricted... the higher the damage, the higher the level you need to be to use them.

Then there are the % essence. This includes "Blues," "Purples," and "Reds." They have technical names, but that is what everyone calls them. They are only for use in PvE (Player vs Environment) and boost your damage by 100%, 200%, or 300% respectively. They are great for taking on boss monsters faster and making the game easier all around.

The final kind of essence is "Event Essence." These are essences that are used for special events. For example, there is a monthly full moon event that has silver essence so that you can do damage to the werewolves, or during the last Easter event, there was "Colorful Essence" that had to be used to take on a special boss.

    Thank you for explaining.

Now, can you please share some of your Experience Talent build? I am Dragonknight, and I don't know what is the best option to invest the points? So far have this:
Any advices? :) Are there any skills considered the best so I can invest points on them?

I like the build below, but the truth is that there are many builds so don't take this as gospel. You ought to play for a while to get a feel of things and then that should help you make informed decisions. Take this for example. You have 13 skills to chose from when you hit LVL 45, but you can only have 10 between your 1-7, LMB, RMB, and TAB. So, it makes no sense to chose a skill that applies to a skill you don't use.

Further more, in Release 155 (probably 2-3 weeks from now) the skill tree will be getting totally revamped. It will be a lot more complicated, but a lot more flexible. Play how you'd like for now, but get ready to have to rethink the entire thing in a couple of weeks.

Note, this is my well rounded build for a 2H dk... If I were playing 1H, I'd be using the shield talent at LVL 30, not the 2H talent.

Here is my reasoning the first four which you will likely hit rather quickly.

LVL 5: Powerful Swing: I use Rageful Swing because it does more damage and hits more enemies than Angry Strike. I find that Angry Strike is only useful against single enemies like bosses who are immune to Powerful Swing's effect anyway.

LVL 10: Merciful Blow: I no longer use Bloody Wild Swing (BWS) at LVL 45 so Smash is my primary means of damage. BWS may be useful for you early on, or in low level PvP, but not for me.

LVL 15: Addicted to Revenge: This one is almost a no brainer. DK's get hit... A LOT. Generating more rage from that is helpful where as hitting others to get rage makes up a much smaller amount of the rage I generate. That means less little hits from my basic attacks that cost 0 rage, and more hits from my heavy hitting attacks like Smash or Mighty Wild Swing (which can actually be used to recover HP later in the game).

LVL 20: Sudden Wrath: This one could go either way. I chose Sudden Wrath because the LVL 45 talent I have selected allows me to recover 10% of my HP over 5 seconds using that attack in addition to the run speed and rage you get from the skill normally and this talent lets me use it more often. However, without that, the jump skill (Willing and Ready) may help you more because it allows you to escape a mob when you might be totally surrounded and can't run.

See what I mean? It is all about how you play. Good luck and don't forget that most of my advice given here will be next to useless in a matter of weeks.

Thank you for the great advices! So, are those changes that big? :) Will we get all of those points reset actually when the update gets live? I will have to check it and see all the changes, even though I don't know many things in this game.

The changes do look "that big." So far, we have only seen a quick preview on the Community Manager's most recent Twitch.tv broadcast, but come Monday the 13th, the new release will be available on the test server for wide spread testing and I'm sure we will all know much more by that afternoon.

Oh, I was looking around but didn't found much. Is there any post here on the forum about all the changes? Also, who can join the test server? Am I eligible to join too and see the changes?

All we got was a look at the interface and that gave clues... It will be more based by skills than "left or right."

Anyone can join the test server. You can find it at http://stablebuild.drakensang.com/ and sign up for an account.

P.S. Here is everything we know about the new skills so far.

Thank you for the awesome feedback :)

    EDIT:
When it is a good time to start using Workbench? And on what type of items I should use it? Cause I got one Extraordinary item that I use currently, but the other 2 Extraordinary were too weak, so I feel like I have thrown away my money for nothing :)

Please check my updated post above ^^

Crafting is expensive. You will likely be able to survive on blue or better up to level 25-30. Then you should focus on exo's. From LVL 40 and up you should be looking at legendaries and uniques.

DSO rerouted the stablebuild link to agathon. It requires editing the properties of the thin client to access stablebuild, and re-editing it to get back to Agathon. It works almost as well as square wheels.

Sorry, I just wanted to notify @_Baragain_ to check my updated post, that's all.
So, basically I should get my equipment by mobs drops? Or I should buy something from shop? Also, is it good to be doing that daily quest that gives Extraordinary item?

    EDIT:
Actually, I have noticed one thing on the daily quests. What is the difference between: win 6 battles and win against 45 players? What battles are these? Cause that 6 win battle seems to give a nice reward :D

Unless you are a P2P looking for an edge in PvP, avoid the shop gear, you can find better. And yes, drops from monsters is the way to go. It helps when you hit the bigger bosses and can farm them for better gear as they have better drop rates.

With respect to daily quests, go for the ones for Ancient Knowledge. That will likely be more helpful for you in the long run. Also, the 6 battles or 45 players refers to PvP. When you hit LVL 10, you are introduced to PvP with a quest for 60 ander for just participating in one battle, win or lose. That will give you a taste of PvP and help you make the decision of if it is right for you.

Thank you again for the advices. I have been doing PvP yesterday night, I have to say it is really fun. I like it :) 7 wins/7 defeats I think. :p

For now, I am not P2P. I guess I made mistake by crafting 2 items. Maybe not that bad, cause I got 2H weapon with nice stats that I use right not, it is Extraordinary. But the other item was really bad, even my green items had better stats :D
