So I have been wanting to play this game for several years now but it seems that every time I launch it from the desktop icon(or from the webpage) it just crashes. I tried running as admin. Crashes. Got a fresh copy of windows 8.1 64 bit and it just never works. Tried it last year with windows 7 on about 3-5 different computers and still just crashes when I go to login from the thin client. I may skip it again this year lol. So whats the fix here?

The thin client crashes for 2 reasons I only tell you have to fix one. The web browser will also not work if there is this problem.

The very first time you run drakensang it has to download files. Provided that you are close to the sever the download should not take long. Sometimes it does take awhile to get files to update it. During this process it could appear to have crashed and killing or trying to close will not help. If it was in the process of downloading when you closed it the drakensang.exe is still running. When you start thin client it checks the version of dragonsang.exe if the files is executing the thin client will crash.

    To fix or test this.
Turn off your computer do not let it resume but start up fresh. Run drakensang thin client and let it full update. Then log on to the game.

Weird question ... but ... do you have DirectX installed on your PC?

Have you tried just playing on Firefox? you don't have to download any files then, all you need is Adobe Flash Player and Java, it won't work on Chrome because it no longer supports Java and doesn't really support gaming ether.
