Deep sea set

Just received mine full set few hours ago. The set is not as powerful in reality as first looked on paper. Even though all the bonuses are high, each individual items are weak compare to a legendary. After testing it out I find this set useful as a defensive set as the stats are comparable to higher stats legendaries. However the offensive is quite disappointing despite the final bonus 100% crit damage. This is because of the low damage offered in weapon 63-95 and weapon adornment +20 dmg while using it 5 offensive slots (weapon, offhand, ring, amulet, adornment)
There is simply not enough damage stats to make the crit damage bonus strong unless one has enough gems to stack. Using the full moon set I was able to crit much more despite the lower crit damage (by 50%). Which means even if one enough crit in the means of dark set the damage input after crit with 100% crit damage is still going to be low.

 

I guess it's becouse the set is for level 40.

 

Its a level 40 mostly defensive set.

Additionally, to make it work offensively, you need crit hit value, ideally at least 40% crit.

Best build around the set without spending drakens is probably either a red essence set (perfect level 45 is +124 damage and 15% damage set bonus), witch hat, some low level crit gear (best was probably the ring or belt, ideally two 1x damage and 3x crits at level 39 would get +38 damage and +1300~+1500 crit, or two 2x and 2x, for +78 and +650~+800). Other option is witch set plus keens/yachak/roshan/sparks and one crit ring.

Either way, glyph the shield up to at least 45 to get reasonable block.

I came close to this with my dwarf, but still needed the 5th set item and the low level crit pieces. And low level crit gear is now nerfed and no longer and option.

I would just use the set to level up to 45 and move on to better gear.

 

I agree. Because the set uses four or five offensive slots (depending if you count offhand as offensive or defensive), it would be best to use the right hand defensive slots as offensive if possible. Red essence set is ideal to boost damage however not many items gives crit. Dark set is good but crit/crit damage without high damage is useless therefore not many options in build with the set. Either red essence set with crit/dmg ring and belt or dark set with dmg ring and belt. Pump both build with gems on weapon/adornment depending on preference of offence (damage, crit or speed). Personally I find the bow quite fast already with 15% speed enchantment.

The set felt disappointing after such promising final set bonus (100% crit damage). Currently I am using red essence set with full moon set which offers more balance build of damage/crit damage/crit ratio.

 

can you tell me please your exp about collecting deep sea set?
so far i got 2 amulets from Atlantis above water. then i started farming Temple sector.
in Temlpe sector i got 3 time bow. Really annoying.
hoe did you all do it? is this normal thing to get one ithem 3 time in row?

 

yeah, its very random. i got the a couple of pieces 3 times, but never got the ring.

 

i hope game drops me one more piece, so i can have 2nd bonus until i get something better. from your conversation here i see its only good for leveling up until 45.

there are some uses for the set in 5v5 pvp. for example, a 4 item deep sea build (necklace, ring, weapon and weapon adornment) plus a good legendary shield plus the warlord set and good speed boots would be a decent defensive running set since you would be getting quite a bit of armor percentage bonuses and shield bonuses for running. but you would have no offense.
