    Hi,

We have just completed Day 2 in the world of Drakensang Online, and there are a few things that are confusing us. We'd greatly appreciate it if someone took the time to answer these questions...

    1. How are the quests handled by the group? Say players A, B, and C are in a group and completed a collecting items quest. Player A goes to talk to the questgiver. Do B and C receive appropriate XP as well?
    2. Are boss loots divided as well? So if A (steam mechanic), B (spellweaver) and C (dragonknight) defeated Heredur, would each get the specific item for the class, or is it random?
    3. Say Players A and B have completed a "defeat a boss" quest, but Player C has not. Player A and B accompany C so C can complete the quest. Will A and B receive 1/3 of the total XP granted by the quest, or will C get all of it the second time around?
    4. Is it possible to reach level 45 without paying whatsoever?
    5. If Player A (level 21) and Player C (level 12) defeated a monster (non-boss) that is level 11, Player A gets no XP. How much does Player C receive?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. The quest prize only goes to the person who has the quest; each person should take the quest individually to get that prize. XP in a map is shared by the group; if a minion dies, everyone in the map gets some XP, as long as they are within 5 of the highest players's level. Players that are lower than 5 ranks below get no XP (no free rides on other's work).
    2. Loot drops are specific to each player; players get different rewards. You can get drops for just being in a map, even if you don't participate in the actual battle. Generally, though, the more damage you cause to the target, and the less damage you take yourself, the more likely you will get a better prize. There is some competition among players for the most aggro, but everyone in there gets something. The actual pay-off schedule is a deeply guarded secret by DSO, often disguised as "random."
    3. Most quests are not repeatable, and a player can only get the quest prize once. They must have the quest active to get the quest prize. Loot is available only if you are in the map when the target goes down.
    4. The are many players who reach level 45 without buying anything, but it takes a lot of time. Knowledge and fame make it easier. Guilds and/or a player network definitely help. If you pay attention to how much XP a boss drops, you get better information on where to farm XP. Generally, the higher level the map, the more XP given per kill and per run.
    5. I thinks it's the other way around for high level maps: the highest level player gets the XP, and the lower level player (more than 5 levels below) gets none. Maps should set to the level of the highest player in the group, and in the map.
For a low level map like Swerdfield Pastures it seems to be different. The monsters carry their levels around with them, and have a constant XP value for all players. Once a player reaches level 45, their XP is frozen, and does not increase. The new levels 46-50 next year would change that.
Someone else may have more or better information on this.

Thanks for the quick response! (I meant Player C doesn't get XP in regards to question 5.)

So let me get this straight: as long as each player has the quest active and are within 5 levels of each other, they're supposed to get something in terms of XP. Correct?

XP is awarded for two different things. Killing things and completing quests.

Killing things: The 5 level restriction applies to the killing things kind of XP. The amount of XP depends on the level difference between the members of the party, the difference between the highest level in the party and the mob, the level of the mob killed, and its difficulty. Optimal XP would be killing something 2-3 levels above your own level. More than 3 levels and the xp goes down, less than 2 levels above and xp starts to go down although it is lowered only slightly. It goes down significantly when your level exceeds the mob killed and gets lower as level difference increases.

Quest XP: Quest XP is static and assigned when you accept the quest. It does not change by level or members in your party. A level 44 could complete a level 2 quest and receive the xp, ander and coin reward for it the same as a level 2 would receive.

For question 5, neither would receive xp for the kill. A would not receive it because he is too farm above the mob, and C would not because he is in a grp with someone more than 5 levels above him. But if killing the mob was part of a quest, both would get XP when/if they turned in the quest.

If you register and complete a quest, you get paid. If the quest gives XP as a prize, a player will get that XP, unless they are topped out at level 45.
If there is a glitch in the process, find support.
Note: high level players cannot take low level quests; the quest givers won't give them even a chance to chat. Players need to move on to quests their own level.
