One can farm items without getting experience by grouping with players 5+ levels above him/her, them buy CoT and identify. Mount requires lots of daily quests for ancient wisdom, so these players intentionally stayed low level for a long time. Basically, the answer to your question is - by abusing holes in game mechanics.

Spiro is right. Though I think this should be addressed and not ignored as these type of players are those that abuse low levelled inexperienced players in pvp. This is however for a different thread and I shall post one.

Sorry Spiro ... but this time you are incorrect. There are no holes in the game mechanics. They (devs) want this to be that way. The illegal part is if you try to farm GoP and knowledge books with high level players ... but ... if you are buying them they even give you more honor points. They want this to be that way because they want to see people suffer.

theres 1 way too stop level 1 from grouping with level 45. only 5+- to your level can join your group,,I've seen this done on other games, works well too.

I think, maybe, he meant holes "as he sees them", "in his opinion", etc. After all this time, I know (almost all of us do) that they're leaving those mechanics the way they are on purpose. So many logical fixes have been presented over the years, but nothing done. They left CoTs in the game for 3+ years, and only just now they decide: "they're inhibiting character progress". That should read as, "CoTs are no longer making us money, let's dump them from the game". When the current twink-fest of this game is no longer profitable, they'll change that too.

Should we expect anything different from BP? I don't. I can't. Too much experience has made that impossible.

Sometimes lower lvl chars need help with quests so making the higher level chars not able to help might have a bad reception with gamers. I like the idea with limiting areas to minimal levels, at first I was opposed to it, but after tossing the idea around it might help the game. I also like the idea to have nothing drop if your not able to break the threshold hold of damage but then again that would only push people into making their toon stronger by other means.

PVP is not the only reason people make their toon stronger at lower levels but also events where it is locked to the level of highest party member. They can get a lot from the event.

u lost me,all i said was a group of 5 + or - 5 levels of u in a group will make it so u have to group and u cant get big melts n money from grouping with a 45,thus making it fairer for all,u have to be +5 levels of mobs to solo them anyway, hence the groups.i do like helping lower lvl toons with my 45,but if u make limiting areas to ur level u havnt really done anything with that, the 45's will help u with a level 10 area,
so with groups being limited to +-5 levels of there own level,,its a better way to do what they r trying to do,,seems they r doing things the long way,

So if I am 45 and someone needs help killing khaly for their quest you feel that I should not help them?

Level 45 helping a person or a group of lv 20+ is overkill unless you're talking about parallel world Khalys. Someone that's Level 30 is already strong enough to deal with Khalys for the rest of the group.

If you're level 45 and wanting to help, why don't you consider helping a bunch of level 40s doing Sigris Hard or the latter half of the Atlantis quests? That seems more reasonable.

You can create new toon and get to his level in few minutes. Then you can help him. :)

Solid advice. Any player that has played to endgame knows that the PvE side of this game is really not all that difficult. At least not until near lvl 40 or PW.

20 level overkill is not "helping." It is more like doing it for them. The only benefit the person being "helped" is getting is no XP gain and unearned drops. In fact it probably hurts them skill-wise since they are not really learning to to handle mobs/bosses at their own level.

Group level restrictions has been suggested many times. DSO continues to ignore one of the best twink solutions in game and there is sadly nothing the player base can do about it. Now "pushing" is illegal and can lead to penalties but I have never heard of DSO enforcing the rule.

The best way to stop twinks without reworking the game mechanics is to make your toon get XP regardless of player lvls in your group..... so if a lvl 10 groups with a lvl 20 ... the lvl 10 still gets XP appropriate for its lvl, and with regard to the lvl of mobs the group is killing. Thus making grouping for "gear farming" or "glyph farming" inconsequential, as you would lvl just as fast ... or maybe a little bit faster, by grouping.
This way, Those players that actually do need help with a quest can get it from higher lvl players ......
and it leaves only one hole for twinks ( not counting dumping tons of money into a toon ).... and that would be to create a toon, and spend a year or 2 collecting daily gifts and gems to craft their high end gear and gems from.

Then you get the opposite effect of people power leveling by running in grps with higher level folks. This is a major issue in other games as people prefer to get to end game as soon as possible.

Let them kill lvl 40 mobs and level to lvl 45 as fast as they want. Won't do them any good if their stats are weak, esp in pvp and events. Doesnt take too long to be lvl 45 anyway.

Sure, they can go back and grind at lower level after getting lvl 45. But pvping should be harder due to fame lvl difference and more older players.

It's ridiculous to see lvl8 with full dragan set...

In this game, really in most mmo's, players can lay down cash for good gear once they get there. Also if they continue leeching they will probably score a few good world loot and boss uniques. True they will die a lot in pvp at first but if the toon is an alt w/ mentor and premium bonus it would not take long for them to catch up.
