How about a new pet for an upcoming event?

We have a fairy-wand fairy (well, some of us do, others are still looking for the diamond) that gives us 25% movement speed - but only in the civilized areas.

How about a new pet, earn-able through an event (so anyone can have it), that would give your character a 5% (3% to 7%, whatever the devs think appropriate) movement speed boost at all times?

I would really like a pet like that, b/c it would be nice to have for farming (getting around quicker). Also, you wouldn't be able to abuse this speed boost in PvP because you can't use pets in PvP

Right now, I usually choose my pet based on the least amount of noise it makes and how it looks (unless I really need hitpoints, for tanking, then it's the pudgy dragon - the sounds he makes can get kind of annoying after a while but, oh well, in battle I can barely hear him anyway).

I've given it some thought. I think the two most likely forms this pet could take would be either; 1) a roadrunner bird - it would run along behind you (not fly, like the crow), prune itself occasionally, etc (I think *meep-meep* noises may be a copyright violation, but I dunno ? ) - OR - 2) a cheetah cub - a small cub of that swift-moving big cat (purr-growls and cutesy-grooming gestures, I guess).

Feel free to add your ideas, anyone who wants to do so. If you have some ideas for the form(s) this pet could take, list (it)them too.

Actually... I have a better idea! How about a pet-purse? A purse that can hold any pet U put in there, to save the loyal fans who have 12+ pets from overloading on inventoryspace?

And while we are at it: A mount-purse also! Again for the same reasons! I mean: Im a fan of the game, but its getting impossible even with full inventoryspace PLUS the space U get from premium to hold the amount of eventitems we are given...

...I mean: It really cant be what U devs want... Can it? That the most loyals fans are unable to hold on to the eventloot just because they are loyal?

...Did I mention the emote-purse in all this?

There U go! 3 usefull ideas in one, I cant beleive U havent implemented allrdy...

Well, the same way as that lady in the train, I don't understand why would you like to collect so many mounts even when they are occupying your inventory. It has already been suggested by some players, " just throw or sell unnecessary items".

As for multi-sev's Idea:

There is already a pet in market that gives 5% travel speed.

My bad. I probably knew that at some point but I haven't looked at those pet shop pets in a long, long time. As you said, I have thrown away many pets and mounts to conserve inventory space. I have no desire to spend andermant on more pets

You're probably right, with a 5% movement speed pet for purchase from the pet vendor they probably won't offer one in an event. But, then again, the sales of that pet may not be very brisk since the initial offering of it. They may offer something in a future event if they aren't making much andermant from the one in the pet shop.

 

Well, considering another ander pet from andrakrash, the bomb buddy, that gives 5% crit dmg isn't appearing in events I doubt it'll happen. 5% crit dmg or travel speed is indeed better, so they offer it for ander. I doubt I'll ever have spare ander to buy either one of them.

 

Yeah, I think you're probably right about the movement speed pet. Also, I know I won't spend ander on any pets. I still have rubies and sapphires to upgrade, and even if I ever have all the highest rubies and sapphires I can use (doubtful), I'd save the ander for future gem-slot openings on better legendary gear.

 

Actually it gives, 5% critical hit and DSO gave us a free pet with 3% critical hit.
So, they can do the same with the speed pet that you can buy and in the next event they can give us a free one with 3% speed.

Save your AM for a rainy day, because i believe that sooner or later DSO will release new higher gems to keep the money flowing...they did it once and they will do it again.

 

I think they will do so too, eventually, and I only have 5X +15 rubies and 5X +6.5 sapphires (working on +20 and +8.0... slowly), so it will be a long road for me when/if they do that.

Even a 3.0% movement speed pet, for free from an event, would be a nice addition

 

Uh, wrong. If you read my post carefully, bomb buddy is "crit dmg". The black bunny is "crit rate". 5% crit dmg is far better than 3% crit rate.

I would love to see a quest that gives a familiar or a mount as the prize.
Or at least more familiar options from the merchant.

 

Pets are nice. There have been some great ones introduced over the years.

Frankly, I've always been hoping for a Squire. Squires are simply mobile inventory that can travel back to town on your behalf. He would look like a simple servant with no attacks.

Squires would be the next level introduced on the Knowledge tree after Epic Mount.

Squires would be summoned just like a mount or pet.

Squires would have two bags. The first bag is the sell or melt bag. The second bag is to take to Leon's stinky locker room. When is the last time he cleaned that place?

Drag and drop in your primary bags to the Squire's bags using the same UI as with Leon. Hit the Squire's teleport button and off he/she goes back to your Urban.

The Squire would not be visible in urban areas to other players. For all intents and purposes, he would just disappear and you would see your Gold or Glyph values increment.

The Squire would have a 30 minute cool down.
